Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Installing new pumps, motors, and related equipment, including pitless adapters, various motor controls, drop pipe and other down hole components. Along with installation of Cisterns and all related components..
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing mechanical and electrical malfunctions in pumps and associated systems (motors, controls, valves, piping). This often involves observing pump operation, checking pump run times, and utilizing diagnostic instruments.
  • Repair: Dismantling pumps, replacing worn or damaged parts (e.g., motors, seals, bearings, impellers), and reassembling them according to manufacturer specifications. This can involve tightening glands, repacking stuffing boxes, and performing other mechanical repairs.
  • Testing: Testing repaired or newly installed pumps to verify proper operation and performance.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repair work performed, parts used, and system operations logs.
  • Safety: Adhering to all safety procedures and regulations (OSHA, company policies) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • On-call duties: Responding to emergency calls for service outside of normal working hours.
  • System Knowledge: Understanding the principles of operation for various pump types (submersible,centrifugal, etc,.) and related systems (1 phase electrical, 3 phase electrical, filtration systems, constant pressure system, 40/60 pressure system)
  • Communication: Effectively communicating with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding work status, issues, and solutions.
  • Fabrication and Welding: In some roles, fabricating and modifying parts, or performing welding (e.g., TIG, MIG, Stick) on pump components or piping.
  • Maintenance: Performing routine equipment maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspecting components to ensure efficient and safe operation
  • Equipment Operation: Operating a variety of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and sometimes heavy equipment like forklifts, dump trucks, or backhoes.
  • Key Skills:

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, transmissions, and engines.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostic Skills: Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes of malfunctions, and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with pump operation and maintenance procedures, electrical systems (phase conversion and controls, wiring diagrams), and control systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in inspecting components, performing repairs, and maintaining records.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skilled in working with hands to assemble, dismantle, and repair intricate pump parts.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve complex issues in the field.
  • Safety Consciousness: Committed to following all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy for logging data, searching for parts, and creating reports.
  • Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Physical Stamina: Capable of heavy lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions and environments (indoors/outdoors, confined spaces, noisy areas).
  • Valid Driver's License: Often required, and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be preferred.
  • Blueprints and Schematics: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics
