Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care services brightens the lives of seniors who can benefit from a little assistance, support, and a friendly smile. Our caregivers make life a little easier by providing compassionate care in the comfort of our care receiver’s home. We empower our care receivers to continue to live independent lives by providing companionship and taking care of day-to-day, non-medical tasks and activities of daily living.

One important aspect of our services is providing companionship to those we serve. Seniors Helping Seniors® caregivers also help with daily tasks like light house cleaning, yard work, medication reminders, and transportation to and from appointments or social events. We also offer support and assistance with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, and offer specialized care, respite care, and assistance for individuals with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical homemaker services for assigned clients
• Report any observed environmental concerns or changes in the client’s status that may impact the safety and security of the client or caregiver
• Completion of appropriate service notes regarding service provision of each visit, to include confirmation of services provided and the date and time in and out, according to Seniors Helping Seniors® policy
• Observation and maintenance of the home environment in accordance with the service plan that ensures the safety and security of the client and caregiver
• Reporting any observed or stated changes in the client’s physical, cognitive, and/or developmental status
• Assistance with non-medical activities of daily living, personal care, and any other assignments as included in the service plan
• Duties include, per Seniors Helping Seniors® policy: skin care, ambulation, bathing, dressing, exercise, feeding, hair care, mouth care, nail care, positioning, shaving, toileting, transfers, medication assistance, respiratory care, accompaniment, protective oversight and respite care

Other Responsibilities

• Arrive on-time for all services
• Maintain documentation of all services provided
• Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance
• Communicate regularly and proactively with our office team, including adequate notice if you need a schedule change or cannot make a scheduled appointment
• Participate in relevant in-service opportunities and other informational meetings

Required Qualifications

• Valid Utah driver’s license, reliable and insured transportation
• Ability to perform light physical activity including frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds
• By law, background check, fingerprinting, and tuberculosis (TB) screen are required
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English

• Reliable and punctual
• Positive attitude and dedication to our mission
• Ability to follow detailed instructions to execute our care plan
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks without guidance
• Maturity to deal effectively with the demands of the job
• Be proactive to find other ways to help our seniors once all tasks have been completed
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Proficient with smartphone
