We are seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Cafe Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for preparing high-quality meals for a variety of catered events, including corporate functions, private parties, and large-scale productions. This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to excellence in food preparation, presentation, and service.

Responsibilities

• Execute menu items according to the chef’s standards of preparation, seasoning, presentation, and portioning
• Excel in a fast-paced environment with high-quality standards
• Maintain food safety standards according to NYC Department of Health guidelines
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workstation
• Maintain a positive, team-spirited approach with a willingness to support fellow cooks as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of culinary or restaurant experience
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (NYC Food Handler's Certificate is a plus)
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and prep lists while maintaining quality and consistency
• Must own a full knife kit
• Experience cooking in a full service kitchen
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong knife skills and proficiency with various cooking techniques
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Keep a clean an polished appearance
• Ability to take direction and work independently or as part of a team
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills

Base salary: $25.00/hour
