We are seeking a Billing Specialist for one of our AmLaw ranked law firms.

Location: Washington DC (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $80,000–$100,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and finalize client bills with accuracy and adherence to firm guidelines
• Collaborate with Client Services Lawyers (CSLs) to ensure timely billing and collections
• Monitor unbilled time and prepare proformas and draft invoices
• Review and ensure bills are compliant with approved billing arrangements
• Prepare write-up/write-down requests and secure necessary approvals
• Generate billing reports, fee summaries, and disbursement statements
• Resolve billing and collection issues through direct client communication
• Assist CSLs with engagement letters and maintain billing documentation folders
• Support other billing operations and projects as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of billing experience in a legal or professional services environment
• Familiarity with Aderant billing software strongly preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities
• Excellent communication and client service abilities
