Primary Duties:

• Create positioning strategy for the Payments product family and business lines. Develop and execute business plans that support the credit union’s growth, member experience, and profitability strategies including proforma's and financial models to support strategic growth objectives. Conceptualize, develop, and manage roadmaps based on market trends and member needs and champion its execution. Present strategies to all levels of the organization & Board.

• Serve as subject matter expert to other support areas of the business including Product, Sales/Relationship Management, Marketing, Training, and Operations. Provide expertise on industry trends, technology, business and regulatory changes to ensure appropriate steps are taken.

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders including senior leadership to identify products and services required for Payments to achieve annual and strategic plans. Lead our Payments Steering Committee and collaborate with internal stakeholders to proactively drive performance and growth while balancing risk.

• Manage the development and maintenance of competitive analysis and market research for competitive offerings. Research product enhancements and new product offerings. Initiate product development cycle for agreed upon development initiatives. Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations.

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience.

• 10 years’ product management experience, leading strategic initiatives with multiple stakeholders in a financial services environment, including direct experience in driving innovation in payments, optimizing payment experiences, and managing priorities with third-party vendors and key partners.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the identification of operational, reputation, and legal risks relative to various payment channels.

• Strong background managing debit & credit card portfolios and financial software payment applications (e.g. P2P, Ensenta, Finastra, Federal Reserve, etc.) and proven visibility into the industry landscape and evolutionary channels including Real Time/Faster Payments, Fintech and other disruptors in the payments space.

  • A certification in Payments Strategy such as Cornerstone Payments School or Moody's Certified Payments Professional is preferred.
  • Certified Product Manager (CPM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Agile Certified Product Manager & Product Owner (ACPMPO) preferred.

The Payments Product Manager is a dynamic and strategic leader responsible for managing a complex suite of payment products and services that drive business growth, operational efficiency, and exceptional member experiences. This role owns the payments platforms and leads the development and execution of a comprehensive product roadmap that balances short-term wins with long-term innovation.
