Quality Inspector II
A growing and profitable manufacturer for aerospace parts in Simi Valley is looking to hire an Inspector II. In this position, you will inspect mechanical parts from production. The company offers extensive benefits (medical/dental/vision, 401K plan, profit sharing, paid time off and more)
Location: Simi Valley
Salary: $28.00 - $32.00/hr (DOE)
Schedule: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 12:00 AM)
This is a full time temp-to-hire position
Responsibilities:
- Use a variety of measuring instruments to inspect parts, products and processes to ensure conformance with standards
- Read and interpret the requirements of drawings and plannings.
- Analyze drawings and planning requirements and make sound determination(s) of the appropriate inspection method/equipment to be used for product acceptance.
- Use all inspection/test equipment, this includes the usage of a coordinate measurement machine (CMM) manual and/or DCC, in determining product acceptance.
- Construct complex inspection set-up(s) and perform required inspections (using set-up) to determine product acceptance.
- Initiate and complete all quality (Inspection) related records and documents with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years prior experience in standard mechanical inspection; as “Grade B” Inspector (or equivalent) or better.
- Basic knowledge of ASME-Y14.5 (Geometric Tolerance) and ability to apply/inspect to requirements with minimal supervision.
- Ability to both read and interpret the requirements of drawings and planning’s
- Ability to analyze planning requirements and make sound determination(s) of the appropriate inspection method to be used for product acceptance.
- Ability to use all standard “Go/No Go” inspection equipment required to determine product acceptance; possess ability to operate “Single Element” gauging (calipers/micrometers) under the instructions of either a higher level Inspector.
- Ability to apply visual inspection techniques and perform “Go/No Go” gage type inspections; possess aptitude/ability to perform required inspections using simple inspection set-up(s) constructed by either a higher level Inspector.
- Aptitude/ability to initiate and complete, with proper instruction, all quality (Inspection) related records and documents under direct supervision
- Experience with measuring product of titanium materials.
- Ability to use a microscope for detecting cosmetic defects.
- Ability to support PPAP’s, facilitate PFMEA’s and Control Plans.
- Self starter
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder)
