Job Title: Assembler Technician
Summary:
The Assembler Technician is a hands-on role responsible for building everything from small subassemblies to complete machinery, typically in low-volume batches ranging from one to five units. Working as part of a team, the Assembler follows technical drawings and instructions to construct high-quality mechanical assemblies. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints, manage inventory, perform quality checks, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to ensure structurally sound builds.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area at all times.
Operate forklifts safely to assist with material movement and job completion.
Assemble hydraulic systems using proper tools, torque specifications, and thread sealants.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to guide the assembly process.
Accurately issue parts and labor time to work orders through the time clock system.
Support additional operations such as packaging, receiving, and shipping as needed.
Follow detailed assembly instructions and perform repeat steps with accuracy and consistency.
Manage and inventory tools, parts, and materials; notify appropriate personnel when supplies are needed.
Perform quality inspections on completed products and troubleshoot or resolve identified issues.
Rotate through various assembly roles within the department to support cross-training and flexibility.
Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the facility.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Trade or vocational school certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical assembly or a related field.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in the safe use and maintenance of overhead cranes, power tools, and other mechanical equipment.
Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively on shared tasks.
Adaptable and willing to learn new jobs within the department.
Skilled at identifying assembly issues and resolving them effectively.
Ability to follow instructions and execute precise, high-quality work under minimal supervision.
