Job Description
Take the Helm of Our Shipyard Operations
Are you an experienced operations leader who leads from the front? At True North Marine, we’re looking for a hands-on Shipyard Operations Manager who is as comfortable managing people as they are working alongside them in the yard.
This role is perfect for a driven professional who thrives on building strong teams, streamlining operations, and delivering results that make an impact.
Here’s your chance to step into a key leadership role where you’ll oversee day-to-day yard activities, ensure safety and environmental standards, and collaborate across teams to deliver exceptional service.
If you’re passionate about leading people, developing and optimizing processes, and growing a thriving operation, this is your opportunity to join a company where your expertise truly matters.
What You’ll Do
- Lead with purpose – Manage shipyard staff and contractors, fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
- Drive operations – Oversee daily scheduling, work orders, and project delivery to ensure smooth workflows.
- Ensure safety & compliance – Implement and enforce OSHA, EPA, and GLO standards across the shipyard.
- Work in the field – Take an active role in physical yard operations, including vessel handling and equipment operation, in both hot and cold outdoor conditions.
- Optimize and grow – Develop operational policies, work instructions, improve processes, and contribute to profitability and yard development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally – Work closely with the Service Department, Marketing, and manufacturers’ reps to support projects and promote the shipyard.
- Maintain excellence – Oversee maintenance of shipyard equipment and facilities to ensure readiness and reliability.
What We’re Looking For
✔ Leadership experience in shipyard operations, marine services, or related industries.
✔ Strong skills in team management, project oversight, and customer relations.
✔ Proficiency with tools like QuickBooks Enterprise, Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and Jobber—or the ability to learn quickly.
✔ A mindset for continuous improvement and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
✔ A team player who values collaboration across departments and external partners.
✔Willingness to work outdoors year-round in varying conditions
Why Join True North Marine?
At True North Marine, you’re not just taking a job, you’re taking the wheel in shaping how we deliver world-class service. We offer:
Autonomy and impact – Your expertise drives change.
A collaborative, supportive team culture
Opportunities to innovate and grow professionally
Competitive pay and benefits to support you and your family
If you’re ready to lead by doing and thrive in a role where every day is hands-on and mission-critical, we want to hear from you.
