Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Project Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in producing comprehensive design and construction drawings, field measuring, and coordinating with consultants and city officials. This position requires a proactive, organized individual with a strong understanding of architectural design principles and construction documentation, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Field Measuring & Documentation
- Conduct onsite field measurements and surveys to collect accurate dimensional data for existing structures and project sites.
- Produce detailed as-builts to document site conditions and identify potential design challenges.
Design Drawings & Presentations
- Produce schematic plan layouts for client review and approval.
- Produce CAD drawings (AutoCAD) for project proposals, feasibility studies, and presentations.
Construction Documentation
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of project specifications, ensuring that all drawings are complete, clear, and fully coordinated.
Consultant Coordination
- Coordinate with external consultants (structural, MEP, civil, etc.) to integrate their input into the architectural design.
- Prepare and manage consultant drawings, ensuring alignment with the overall project vision and schedule.
- Address technical and design-related queries from consultants and assist in resolving conflicts between disciplines.
City Processing & Permitting
- Assist in preparing submittals for building permits, zoning applications, and other municipal processes.
- Coordinate with local authorities and agencies for project approvals, modifications, and updates.
- Ensure all city or regulatory requirements are met and track project progress through the approval pipeline.
General Support & Project Coordination
- Provide general support to the project team, including preparation of project documentation, drawing revisions, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepares and maintains project schedules and assist in ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Prepares and assists with obtaining estimates and proposals from the various subcontractors.
- Prepares a construction package for the General Superintendent and ensures that superintendent(s) and foremen have a thorough understanding of the project.
- Ensures that plan checks and permits are secured.
- Prepares RFI’s and submittals and maintains logs.
- Prepares Change Orders and tracks client approvals.
- Prepares all closeout documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project software.
- At least five years design-build experience specific to tenant improvement and core/shell construction.
