Job Details

Position Summary: Responsible for all business processes of the Branch and office while directing the overall activities of the employees. Must work well and provide managerial level support of customers, manufacturers and sales reps. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish Branch sales goals. Responsible for development of client relationships and sales as well. Works independently solving complex and difficult problems while managing others as required.

Position Responsibilities:

• All aspects of sales to clients including specification, distributor, and discretionary
• Partners with customers, manufacturers, and sales reps to develop cooperative working relationships and maintains them over time
• Accompany Sales Reps on sales calls as needed
• Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others
• Identifying the developmental needs of Sales Reps and others to include coaching and mentoring to improve knowledge and skills
• Ensures sales reps and inside support staff quickly resolve customer problems
• Maintain profitability by meeting sales and income targets
• Establish annual budget for sales and income with Senior Management
• Develop financial goals and establish targets for sales reps
• Maintains up to date understanding of local market conditions to include competing agencies in the footprint
• In depth understanding of SESCO Lighting’s full product offering and functionality
• Analyze and make timely critical decisions displaying good judgment
• Other duties as assigned by Executive Management

Essential Skills:

• Proven ability to lead and motivate
• Lighting Certified preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of related lighting rep agency or distribution experience
• Experience with wireless and networked lighting controls is preferred
• Prior management experience is required
• Must possess experience in outside lighting and controls sales and project quotations
• Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year university is preferred
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
• Must be proficient on Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Local market knowledge and experience preferred by not required
