Job Description: AutoCAD Drafter – Structural and Civil Projects
Position Overview:
We seek a skilled AutoCAD Drafter with structural and civil drafting expertise to join our team. The candidate will have experience generating detailed coordinate plans, performing plan take-offs, and collaborating with field survey teams on complex construction projects, including deep foundations, support of excavation, shallow foundations, and site work.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting and Design:
Develop accurate and detailed AutoCAD drawings for structural and civil projects.
Create coordinate plans and layout details to support field surveying and construction efforts.
Ensure compliance with project specifications.
Coordination and Communication:
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field survey teams to generate precise layout coordinates.
Communicate design details and revisions effectively with all stakeholders.
Plan Analysis:
Perform plan take-offs for structural and civil drawings, identifying quantities, materials, and specifications.
Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents to ensure project alignment.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough checks on all drawings and layouts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Maintain an organized database of project files and revisions.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting software, with a strong focus on structural and civil projects.
Experience in generating coordinate plans for field surveying.
Familiarity with deep foundation systems, support of excavation, shallow foundations, and site work.
Ability to interpret and analyze structural and civil drawings for plan take-offs.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on schedule.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with construction projects involving deep excavation and foundation work.
Knowledge of survey equipment and field layout techniques.
Education and Certifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
Certification in AutoCAD drafting or equivalent technical training.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $100,000 per year
Vacation: 2 weeks of vacation per year (increasing to 3 weeks after 2 years)
Health Plan: Non-contribution health plan
Retirement: 20% SEP (Simplified Employee Pension)
