Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Medical Scheduler to coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and provider availability across various healthcare practices. The ideal candidate will be familiar with medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR), and HIPAA-compliant scheduling practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments for consultations, procedures, and diagnostic services

• Verify patient information and insurance eligibility prior to appointment confirmation

• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure accurate calendar management

• Utilize EHR and scheduling software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) to maintain accurate appointment records

• Handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls in a courteous, professional manner

• Communicate pre-appointment instructions and documentation requirements to patients

• Escalate urgent scheduling needs to clinical staff when necessary

• Ensure all scheduling adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations

Qualifications:

• Experience in medical scheduling, healthcare administration, or front office operations

• Working knowledge of medical terminology and common healthcare procedures

• Experience with EHR systems and multi-provider scheduling tools

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a remote environment

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical administrative certification is a plus

Preferred Experience:

• Prior work in a virtual healthcare support role

• Familiarity with pre-authorizations, referrals, and insurance verification

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
