The Materials Administrator is responsible for the accurate documentation, accounting, and inventory functions within the stockroom. This position may also be required to support other departments as needed.

Duty and Responsibilities

  • Verify received shipment quantities are accurate, record inventory in the system, and report any discrepancies along with required documentation
  • Electronically track, monitor, control, and adjust inventory utilizing established cycle count procedures
  • Match shippers, bills of lading, and sales orders for received items
  • Document and record all material dispositions as inventory is issued to jobs
  • Direct operator calls to appropriate recipient
  • Provide support to the Shipping Administrator when needed
  • Provide support for Shipping and Receiving to prepare packing slip, bills of lading, international paperwork, and other paperwork when needed

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in logistics, purchasing, or supply chain management; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5+ years of experience may be considered in place of degree
  • 2+ years of experience with high volume shipping and receiving preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of experience working with transportation carriers to arrange shipments
  • 2+ years of experience with entering shipping and receiving documents into a large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (such as SAP)
  • Knowledge of international shipping documentation requirements
  • Effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency with a focus in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel to offsite facilities when required
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, and have the ability to climb, stand, stoop or kneel for extended periods of time
