Job Title: President of the Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce
Reports to: Board of Directors
Employment Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $65,000 - $110,000

Position Summary:
The President serves as the chief executive officer of the Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce and is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and administration of the organization. This role oversees member services, staff supervision, financial planning, community relations, event coordination, and implementation of the strategic goals set forth by the Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
· Leadership & Strategic Planning
· Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives in alignment with the Chamber’s mission.
· Provide vision and direction for membership growth, economic development, and community engagement.
· Represent the Chamber in public forums, media, and stakeholder meetings.
Membership Development:
· Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective members.
· Develop and execute membership recruitment and retention strategies.
· Oversee member benefits, services, and engagement activities.
Community & Government Relations:
· Serve as the Chamber’s liaison with local, regional, and state government officials.
· Advocate on behalf of the business community regarding legislation, economic development, and regulatory issues.
· Foster collaborative partnerships with civic, nonprofit, and educational institutions.
Operations & Financial Management:
· Develop and manage the annual budget with fiscal responsibility.
· Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and reporting requirements.
· Oversee daily operations, including staff supervision, payroll and vendor management.
Marketing & Communications:
· Manage internal and external communications including newsletters, social media, and the Chamber website.
· Promote Chamber events, programs, and achievements to stakeholders and the community.
· Lead public relations and branding efforts.
Event Planning & Program Management:
· Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of all Chamber events and programs. (mixers, expo, events, golf, directory etc.)
· Develop new initiatives to enhance member value and community visibility. Secure event sponsorships and funding to support programming.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience.
· Communications, Public Relations, or related field
· 5+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit, business development, government relations, or Chamber work.
· Strong understanding of small business issues, economic development, and community engagement.
· Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
· Proficiency in budgeting, fundraising, and staff supervision.
· Experience with ChamberMaster/Online QuickBooks or similar membership management platforms is a plus.
Preferred Certifications:
Institute for Organization Management (IOM)
