TITLE: Operations Supervisor – Field
FLSA Status: Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $47,840 to $64,480 Yearly ($23.00 to $31.00 Hourly) Salary will include base plus paid time off (PTO), health, dental, vision and life insurance options. In addition, it comes with a company vehicle to support to extensive driving often required.
POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Operations Field Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager and plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of daily operational tasks, as well as management of the field and site supervisor teams. This position is responsible accomplishing the myriad operational field tasks, such as training security officers, conducting quality checks, interfacing with clients for new and ending sites, fixing issues that arise such as lost keys, and providing reinforcement to incidents. The role requires strong decision-making skills, attention to detail, and good leadership qualities to manage a large group of supervisors and guards in a highly dynamic schedule. This is a licensed armed private security officer position and requires a good driving record to be able to drive APS company vehicles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTION
- Flexible work schedule, primarily focused on afternoons and swings, but willing to work graves if necessary.
- Participate in the daily 0830 leadership huddle with the Operations Administrative Supervisor and Operations Manager to align on site activity, client concerns, staffing priorities, and operational tasks.
- Collaborate daily with the Operations Administrative Supervisor and Scheduler to ensure alignment between field staffing needs and administrative schedules.
- Support administrative processes by ensuring timely submission of performance evaluations, training records, and incident documentation from the field.
- Review daily Dispatch and Field Supervisor reports to stay informed of overnight incidents and site activity, and coordinate follow-up tasks with the administrative team as necessary.
- Coordinate with the Admin Assistant and Dispatch team to ensure that urgent field-related incidents are properly documented and relayed to management.
- Support the scheduling of job sites and mobile routes, and work with all supervisors to ensure sites are covered to reduce overtime.
- Ensure all operational tasks or follow-ups are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communicate staffing needs and task assignments with supervisors, and ensure new security professionals are appropriately trained on site-specific post orders.
- Supervise Site Supervisors, Field Supervisors, guards, and officers.
- Ensure new sites are fully prepared, and the client has a great experience from the start
- Continuously seek out process inefficiencies or single-points of failure and develop solutions for improvement.
- Assist the Operations Manager and other Operations Supervisor(s) in daily reporting and client communications.
- Update various computer programs used by the company and send reminders for pass-on information.
- Oversee the bi-weekly Field Supervisor meeting, to include a fair and equitable evaluation process for employees.
- Enter performance reviews in HR system.
- Assume assigned duties of the Operations Manager in his absence.
- Deal appropriately with people in situations that may, at times, become confrontational, stressful, or uncomfortable.
- Manage numerous tasks and assignments at a time with frequent interruptions.
- Must work days and/or nights, to include weekends, to perform responsibilities. Must be available during regular business hours to conduct regular business, but may be required to work nights to supervise or fill in with shifts as needed.
- Must be able to work out in the field with subordinates or covering shifts.
- Must be able to work cordially and efficiently with the rest of the administrative APS staff.This includes working closely with the other Operations Supervisor(s) and Court Supervisors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Considerable knowledge of current office procedures, methods, and computer equipment and of the operations, services and activities of the business.
- Must be able to obtain a Utah guard license but a Utah Armed Guard License is preferred.
- Considerable knowledge of business rules, regulations, processes and procedures.
- Ability to coordinate, organize, and review the assigned office duties and to independently perform responsible work involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative.
- Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate personnel and to interpret and apply administrative and division policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other employees and clients.
- Ability to operate a computer and its programs, along with the various other technology that APS utilizes.
- Requires graduation from high school or equivalent and increasingly responsible supervisor experience.
- Maintain Utah Driver’s License. Will observe all traffic regulations, follow All Pro Security policy, and be a safe, courteous and responsible driver while operating Business vehicles. Must wear seatbelt and make certain that other passengers are in seatbelts when vehicle is in operation.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for performing timely, accurate, confidential and complex duties for the Operations Manager, General Manager or CEO. This position supervises other staff positions.
