A leading provider of healthcare services in secure and institutional settings is seeking a Board-Certified Physician to provide direct patient care and medical leadership at a key facility in Leavenworth, Kansas. The role offers a unique opportunity to practice comprehensive medicine in a highly collaborative, structured environment with a strong interdisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate brings excellent clinical skills, sound judgment, and a passion for delivering quality care to an underserved population. Prior experience in institutional, correctional, public health, or military medicine is highly desirable, though not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical examinations, diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, and manage follow-up care
  • Perform minor surgical procedures as needed
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the facility’s healthcare team
  • Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Monitor the quality of medical services and implement continuous improvements
  • Maintain full compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and maintenance of medical records
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Foster positive collaboration with facility leadership and external medical partners

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or related specialty
  • Current medical license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Kansas
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to work onsite in a secure, structured environment
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a diverse and sometimes complex patient population

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $225,000–$300,000, commensurate with experience
