Contemporary Nutrition is a nutrition counseling practice that works with patients in an outpatient office setting.  Our goal is to inspire our patients using motivational interviewing and customizing their meal plan to best fit their individualized needs.  As a team, our dietitians work collaboratively to offer our patients the most cutting-edge research, the most advanced tools and resources, and the personalized care that often evolves and grows.  The Lead Dietitian will be responsible for mentoring new dietitians and interns, collaborating with the team on more complex cases, and establishing professional needs to assure that our office stays advanced.

Qualifications & Skills

·         B.S. and/or M.S in Dietetics. Registration by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

·         Candidates have a preferred minimum of 4 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in addition to their dietetic internship to be considered for this position.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in functional/integrative or wellness nutrition. 

• Have a high level of confidence to evaluate and develop an individualized care plan for patients for weight management, peak performance, diabetes, insulin resistance, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, GERD, bariatric surgery, gastrointestinal disorders, cancer, and nutrient deficiencies. 

Specific Responsibilities

·         Advanced knowledge and skill in comprehensive nutrition assessment and care planning, including problem diagnosis, counseling, and evaluation of clients from diverse backgrounds and ages, who have a multitude of complex, high-risk medical needs.

·         Develop a care plan to meet the patient’s personal medical/nutrition problems, establish patient’s motivation for change, realistic goals and provide educational materials to best meet these needs while coordinating care with the referring physician. 

·         Can work independently while also working as a team player.

·         Contributes to the practice by developing patient resources, presentations, and sharing advanced research with the team.

This is a full-time, salaried position with standard office hours 9 am – 5 pm with occasional events, presentations, or business needs that may require additional commitments.
