Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks an Operations, Maintenance & Monitoring (OM&M) Technician to support groundwater treatment project sites in New Jersey.
The Sr Groundwater Treatment System OM&M Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of groundwater treatment systems. This position is responsible for monitoring system performance, conducting routine inspections, and implementing necessary repairs to maintain compliance with environmental regulations. The technician will also analyze water quality data to identify trends and recommend improvements to treatment processes. Collaboration with engineers and environmental scientists is essential to optimize system efficiency and address any operational challenges. Ultimately, the technician's work contributes to the protection of public health and the environment by ensuring safe and clean groundwater resources.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of groundwater treatment systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and analyze water quality data, documenting findings and reporting any anomalies to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on treatment equipment, including pumps, filters, and chemical dosing systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and environmental scientists to develop and implement system improvements and upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Recording and submit field data to the specific task performed at each site location via email using a GES-owned computer.
- Adhering to GES Health & Safety Standards in all field-related activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in environmental science, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5 - 10 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of groundwater treatment systems or similar environmental systems.
- A New Jersey Industrial Wastewater Treatment System Operator (N2 or N3) license is required
- Strong understanding of water quality regulations and environmental compliance standards.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support project needs and be agreeable to outdoor work in varying weather conditions. This may include weekend availability occasionally, including after-hours or overnight system alarm responses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with advanced groundwater treatment technologies and methodologies.
- Certification in water treatment or environmental management.
- Familiarity with data analysis software and environmental monitoring tools.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training will be provided if this certification is not yet earned. This certification is required to perform the duties of this position.
- Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is a plus, although not required.
