REPORTS TO Chief Financial Officer
SUMMARY The senior finance associate develops and deploys financing solutions for PSC green bank clients, including project financing, product development, and financial modeling development and analysis. Additionally, the senior finance associate will serve as a project manager/project team contributor for PSC green bank clients and other non-green bank client projects.
Essential Duties- Under the direction of the CFO, supports the design and implementation of investment strategies, attracting capital and deploying loans, credit enhancements, and co-lending for green bank clients
- Creates new loan products and services, manages financing process stages (origination, underwriting, and structuring), and develops innovative financing mechanisms for renewable energy and climate projects
- Manages the project proposal review and decision process by reviewing project proposals against eligibility requirements, evaluating project risks, assessing due diligence, drafting investment memoranda with detailed financial assessments, and analyzing credit worthiness and investment potential
- Collaborates on financial forecasting and communication of finance and investment strategies with stakeholders
- Conducts ongoing risk assessments and prepares portfolio reports
- Provides operational finance support for green bank and public finance operations, including reviewing finance-related governance documents, establishing lending procedures and controls, and providing financial analysis for funding applications
- Serves as the project manager and/or subject matter expert on project teams for other client projects (non-green bank clients) by providing technical assistance, facilitating client strategy sessions, and developing finance value propositions/solutions through a deep understanding of our clients’ public policy/finance needs
- Collaborates and communicates well with staff and clients in a fast-paced environment with diverse people and projects, fostering a supportive, creative working environment for all PSC colleagues
- Demonstrates initiative, critical thinking, and sound judgment to generate ideas, work approaches, presentation of information, and issue resolution
- Manages workload effectively while engaged in multiple projects concurrently with high accuracy and attention to detail, seeking clarification when appropriate

- Technical Skills—Capital and Financial Analysis: Has demonstrated technical expertise in accounting, investments, financial projection and risk management, credit analysis, underwriting, and market research; advanced financial modeling and quantitative analysis capabilities; and knowledge of renewables, energy, or associated policy trends
- Project Management: Can organize people and activities, understands how to develop work into efficient workflow, anticipates opportunities for synergy and integration in project execution, demonstrates broad knowledge and perspective, utilizes project resources in an efficient and effective manner to keep projects on task and budget

- Communication: Effectively and appropriately communicates and adapts that knowledge in various contexts, both verbally and in writing
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field; MBA preferred
- 5–7 years of experience in project finance, underwriting, investment analysis, or a related field
- CFA license is preferred
- Knowledge of energy markets, clean energy technologies, regulatory frameworks, and climate finance principles is required
- Salary range of $107,770 - $161,655 commensurate with education and experience
