Overview:

A well-established and fast-paced personal injury law firm in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking an experienced, driven, and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal to join our legal team. This is a full-time, on-site (preferred) position for a skilled professional capable of managing personal injury cases from initial intake through settlement or trial, including all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong research and legal writing skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to work independently.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage a full caseload from initial intake through settlement or trial

- Conduct detailed client interviews and maintain consistent, professional communication

- Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents in accordance with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure

- Prepare and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions

- Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and IMEs

- Request, review, and summarize medical records

- Prepare detailed medical chronologies and treatment summaries

- Itemize and reconcile medical bills and address discrepancies or gaps in treatment

- Identify, request, and negotiate healthcare liens and subrogation itemizations

- Draft persuasive settlement demand packages

- Communicate effectively with insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers

- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda as needed to support litigation strategy

- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness coordination, and trial binders

- Maintain organized case files, docket deadlines, and litigation calendars

- Identify and resolve issues independently through excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

 

Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation

- In-depth knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and e-filing procedures

- Experience with legal case management software (CasePeer or something similar)

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a caseload

- Exceptional grammar, legal writing, and proofreading skills

- Strong legal research and issue-spotting ability

- Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to client service

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Trial preparation and courtroom experience

- Florida Notary Public
