Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Travel Expense Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for auditing and processing employee travel expenses while ensuring compliance with internal policies and government regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, audit, and process employee expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Ensure all travel expenses comply with company policies and applicable regulations
• Provide training and support to employees on travel policy and expense submission processes
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and audit concerns
• Prepare and submit required documents, track approvals, and maintain accurate records
• Manage and maintain a database for expense reports and analyze data for trends or training needs
• Troubleshoot system access issues and assist users with expense system problems
• Compile reports related to outstanding travel advances and overdue expenses
• Maintain organized filing systems and update procedure documentation
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Experience with accounting practices related to accounts payable, travel expenses, and tax application
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and the ability to perform accurate calculations
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
