Job Description
About the Role:
Kipcon is seeking a people-driven, detail-oriented Engineering Operations Manager to lead and support our Engineering Project Execution Team. This is a player/coach role — you’ll directly manage select projects while also leading and holding the broader team accountable.
As a member of Kipcon’s Leadership Team, you’ll actively contribute to company-wide direction, vision alignment, issue solving, and cross-functional initiatives as part of our EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) framework. You’ll help ensure the engineering function supports and advances Kipcon’s strategic goals. This is a hybrid position, offering a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable (LMA): Drive performance through clear expectations, direct communication, and hands-on leadership across the Project Execution Team.
Process & Quality Oversight: Ensure that engineering deliverables across the department meet or exceed Kipcon’s internal technical and quality standards.
Budgeting: Maintain operational control by ensuring that projects are delivered within agreed-upon budgets.
Client/Prospect Experience: Clients interacting with the engineering team experience consistent communication, clear expectations, timely delivery, proactive issue management, and clear presentation of deliverables. Prospects experience professional presentation of Kipcon’s capabilities and how they meet project needs.
Risk & Issue Management: Maintain a proactive culture of early issue identification and escalation to protect scope, budgets, relationships, and team alignment.
Project Execution: Personally manage select engineering projects, ensuring they are scoped, staffed, scheduled, and delivered in alignment with client expectations and Kipcon’s internal standards.
Qualifications:
· Proven leadership ability with experience managing or mentoring team members
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in client-facing roles
· Demonstrated ability to hold others accountable and drive team performance
· Comfortable presenting technical deliverables and services to clients and prospects
· Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering required
· 5+ years of professional experience in engineering project management within the civil or structural disciplines
· Experience inspecting existing residential buildings for structural integrity and overall conditions of building components (e.g., roofs, facades, balconies, garages)
· Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus but not required
About Kipcon:
