We are looking for an Bookkeeper to join our law firm! You will be responsible for the following:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and approving settlement distribution sheets for accuracy and prepare settlement distribution checks
• Preparing and lodging case expense checks and client loan checks
• Daily examination of credit card charges to ensure no fraud and match with an existing client matter
• Review and reconcile transactions for business and client trust accounts and maintain general ledger
• Preparing and issuing checks for operations activity.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Report analysis and findings to management team
• Prepare journal entries and assist in maintaining the month-end close checklist
• Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliation schedules by reviewing the general ledger activity and obtaining a full understanding of the account activity to support month-end reported balances
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Ad hoc projects, reporting, and analysis as needed
• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements for the firm

​Qualifications:

• 3+ years of prior experience in Bookkeeping
• Prior experience at a law firm, preferably a personal injury law firm, preferred
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Tech Savvy
• Expert level experience with Quickbooks, current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
