Position:  Operations Manager - Stone Division, The Kitchen & Bath Company

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: President/CEO

Summary  

This position will provide supervision and direction to the manufacturing team of the stone division. Responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process of our countertops and other stone applications. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.

 

 Primary focus will be driving process improvement, quality control, team performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through the delivery of effective processes, methodologies, and performance management practices.

 

Essential Functions

  • Team Performance Management: Execute the performance management lifecycle, including proper employee documentation, onboarding, training, coaching, performance reviews, improvement plans, and termination. Establish work schedules. Set performance and output measures and monitor and evaluate performance. Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Identify training needs, plan, and deliver training to improve skill and performance. Direct the implementation of safe operating practices in compliance with company and regulatory policies, including OSHA compliance. Your direct reports will include approximately 6 managers and 40 employees..

  • Daily Operations Management: Manage and monitor daily operations and physical conditions of the facility and equipment.  

    • Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.

    • Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.

    • Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations.

    • Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.

    • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.

    • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.

  • Budget Management & Cost Management: Demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing costs and identify ways to contain costs and increase profitability. Adhere to departmental and operational budgets. Monitor and control inventory to minimize waste. 

  • Customer Service: Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality materials to drive customer satisfaction and retention.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial technology.

  • Five years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or related field; CNC Machining or CAD experience is a plus.

  • Five years of experience in team leadership and performance management with knowledge of HR practices.

  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred but not required

  • Proven track record of driving process improvement, cost containment, and quality control.

  • Demonstrated competencies in problem-solving, decision-making, and professional communication.
