In the role as an Interior Designer you will provide design services to clients throughout the state of Wisconsin. You will work closely with the Director of Design, Design Department Colleagues, Sales Team, and Executive Staff, as well as clients, to ensure accurate plans, furniture specifications, and order entry.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Attends client planning meetings with Sales Team account executives; presents plans and information to customers for review and approvals.
  • Review site; conducts field measurements and plan-to-site adherence checks.
  • Inventories existing products and produces as-built drawings/specifications as required.
  • Conducts in-depth programming; interviews customer/end users, research workplace requirements and analyzes space/furniture needs.
  • Develop and present block and space plans as well as develops and presents 3D Renderings as required.
  • Develops and presents color/finish boards and selections; gains customer approval as required.
  • Prepares installation drawings for field personnel. Coordinate electrical/data locations.
  • Develops all furniture product specifications; double-checks specifications against plans; produces customer sign-off documentation and prepares project coordination team for order entry.
  • Develop interior finish plans and material schedules and work with the construction division as needed to coordinate estimation of produces and purchase of interior finishes.
  • Manages changes and revisions to furniture and interior specifications projects and confers with sales, project coordination, and installation departments, as necessary.
  • Estimates design project time; maintains detailed daily timesheets; manages actual time against project estimates.
  • Assists in the writing and presentation of design proposals and contracts to customers.
  • Maintains project documentation, including records of all key decisions, phone conversations, approvals and signoffs, and notes from all project planning meetings.
  • Manages adherence to project schedule, internal dealership budget, customer’s project budges, design task completions and quality of design work and communicates regularly with the client. 
  • Uses internal systems (CAP 20/20, CET, Team Design) to upload and prepare orders for order entry process
  • Attends regular manufacturer representative presentations to stay current on existing products, trends, and designs available.

 

Requirements:

  • Education and/or Experience; The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, preferably from an FIDER/CIDA accredited
  • university along with 1-5 years of relevant furniture or design industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of interior design field and current practices
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and 20-20 Technologies
  • Preference for candidates familiar with Team Design
  • Understanding of workplace environment issues (ergonomics, technology integrations, teaming, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of the dealership’s contract furniture lines, including features/benefits, pricing, application and assembly, specification options ad nomenclature, etc.
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code, etc.
