Job Description

As an Operations Manager with NJ Play Sports, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and successful operation of our leagues. Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for someone who has a true passion for soccer. You will be the backbone of league management, providing exceptional service to our customers, nurturing strong relationships with our partners, and leading a dedicated team. In this role, you will drive the growth of the company by fostering both professional and personal development within your team, ensuring that every team member is fully supported.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Tasks: Manage field reservations, schedules, league and player communication, and review and manage reports.

  • Customer Service: Handle customer service inquiries through email and text platform.

  • Retention Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to retain teams and players across leagues.

  • Player + Team Communication: Keep league participants informed and engaged with regular communication and updates.

  • Manage (recruit, hire, replace, train, schedule, and maintain) part time contractors.

  • Manage relationships with facility partners.

  • Manage equipment inventory.

  • Handle on-site issues that may occur.

  • Growth/expansion of designated sports/areas.

 

Results

  • Operational Officiency - Streamline processes to ensure smooth day to day league operations.

  • Customer Excellence - Ensure that all within have a memorable experience by delivering superior customer service and executing league operations with efficiency and accuracy.

  • Team Leadership - Manage part-time staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and ongoing leadership to create a motivated and a high performing team.

  • Collaboration with Internal Team - Work closely with the marketing and sales team to align strategies with future goals.

  • Continuous Improvement - Suggest and implement improvements to current league play, ensuring that operations are continuously evolving to meet the needs of participants.

  • Inventory Management - Oversee the management of equipment inventory and ensure that supplies are stocked and in good condition.

  • On-Site Issue Resolution - Handle any issues that arise during league play, ensuring that concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.

Requirements

 

  • You have a passion for soccer (must!)

  • You have strong leadership and team management skills.

  • You are an elite communicator. You communicate with clarity and purpose, both written and spoken.

Working Location(s)

 

  • Northern NJ (Hybrid on-site)

  • Candidate must live in Northern NJ and have a valid driver's license

  • Training may take place in person and/or virtually

 

Compensation

 

  • Starting Base Salary $50,000- $70,000

  • Key Performance Indicator-based bonus structure
