CNC Swiss Setup/Lead Operator—Night Shift

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Swiss Setup/Lead Operator to lead the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC Swiss-style machines (such as Citizen, Star, or Tsugami). This role involves setting up jobs per engineering specifications, ensuring high-quality part production, and providing leadership on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of Swiss lathes, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to mentor and guide junior machinists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-style lathes for the production of complex precision parts.

• Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

• Select and install appropriate tooling, make offsets and adjustments to maintain quality.

• Perform first article inspections and in-process checks using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.

• Optimize machining processes to increase productivity and reduce scrap.

• Train, guide, and assist other operators and team members as needed.

• Lead machine troubleshooting and assist with preventative maintenance tasks.

• Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.

• Identify and report any equipment or process issues to supervisors.

• Ensure a clean and safe work environment by following company safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC Swiss machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, etc.).

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school training a plus.
