Service Technician – Kyocera Printers & Copiers
Location: Portage, MI | Territory: Southwest Michigan
Full-Time | Compensation Commensurate with Experience | OEM Training Provided
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Service Technician to join our team in supporting a diverse client base across Southwest Michigan. This role involves servicing and maintaining Kyocera printers and multifunction copiers, as well as providing responsive, on-site technical support.
Ideal candidates will bring a blend of mechanical aptitude, basic IT familiarity, and a strong focus on customer service. Prior experience with office equipment repair and Kyocera certifications are highly valued, but we’re willing to provide training and certification for motivated individuals eager to grow in the role.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and repair of Kyocera office equipment in the field. You’ll respond to service requests, perform diagnostics, complete repairs, and ensure that client systems are operating reliably and efficiently. A key part of the role is maintaining positive relationships with end users by delivering clear communication, prompt follow-up, and minimal disruption during service visits.
Primary Responsibilities
• Respond to service calls and perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Kyocera printers and copiers
• Install new devices, including unpacking, assembly, basic network setup, and configuration
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure long-term performance
• Maintain detailed service records using a mobile ticketing system
• Identify and resolve technical issues, referencing service manuals and diagnostic tools as needed
• Deliver on-site customer training and provide phone/email support when applicable
• Maintain a professional and courteous presence while working in client environments
• Participate in OEM training programs and stay current with evolving technologies
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience servicing office equipment or similar electromechanical systems
• Kyocera factory certifications or equivalent (preferred but not required)
• Working knowledge of Windows environments and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Familiarity with tools such as multimeters and inspection equipment
• Comfortable reading service guides, schematics, and part diagrams
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting the goals of a team
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
• Professional communication skills, both verbal and written
