Housing & Urban Development Coordinator

Location: Perris, CA

Duration: 3 months with potential extension

Pay Range: $28/Hr. - $32/Hr. (DOE)

We are seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven Community Development and Housing Specialist for a temporary position. This role is ideal for a professional with proven experience in managing CDBG programs and implementing housing-related initiatives, looking to make an immediate impact in a dynamic community-focused environment.

Job Overview:

• Help plan and manage housing and community development projects
• Ensure all programs follow federal and state rules (CDBG, HUD, HOME)
• Track spending, prepare budgets, and submit financial and performance reports
• Work with contractors, legal staff, and nonprofits to prepare agreements and monitor progress
• Help write and review contracts, applications, and official documents
• Collect and organize data for reports and audits
• Monitor partner agencies and ensure they follow grant requirements
• Stay updated on HUD regulations and recommend policy changes
• Support city staff, departments, and community groups with information about housing programs
• Give presentations and prepare clear reports for city leaders and the public

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, or related field
• Knowledge of housing programs and grant rules (CDBG and HUD)
• Excellent organizational and admin skills, fast learner.
• Valid driver’s license
• Drug Screen & Background Check required.
