Position Title: Territory Sales Manager – HVAC & Plumbing Parts & Equipment
Location: New Haven, CT (Territory includes surrounding areas)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation: Commensurate with Experience + Performance-Based Incentives

Position Summary:

We are seeking a driven, customer-focused Territory Sales Manager to represent our full line of HVAC and plumbing parts, supplies, and equipment in the New Haven, CT region. This is a high-impact, field-based sales role responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, mechanical contractors, plumbing firms, and facility managers to drive growth and customer loyalty.

The ideal candidate has industry knowledge, a strong technical sales background, and a passion for providing value-added solutions in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a defined sales territory by identifying, targeting, and acquiring new customers while nurturing existing accounts

  • Sell a wide range of HVAC and plumbing products including parts, hydronics, piping, fittings, controls, tools, and equipment

  • Conduct on-site customer visits to understand needs, recommend solutions, and provide product support

  • Develop proposals, quotations, and pricing strategies to win business while maintaining margin goals

  • Partner with inside sales, operations, and purchasing teams to ensure seamless customer experience and fulfillment

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product lines, technical specifications, pricing, and market trends

  • Attend manufacturer trainings, trade shows, and customer events to build product knowledge and relationships

  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets and performance metrics

  • Utilize CRM software to track customer activity, sales pipeline, and reporting

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in the HVAC, plumbing, or industrial distribution industry

  • Strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing products, systems, and applications

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Proven ability to manage a sales territory and develop new business

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM software

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel daily within the territory

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical or trade background in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems

  • Experience selling to contractors, service companies, or mechanical firms

  • Familiarity with inventory management and distribution channels

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is a plus
