We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Shipping Coordinator with proven experience in Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) dispatch to join our logistics team. This role is responsible for coordinating daily shipments, managing freight schedules, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining strong communication with carriers, vendors, and internal departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipping processes and LTL freight operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and schedule outbound and inbound shipments, with a focus on LTL freight.
Communicate effectively with carriers to dispatch freight, confirm pickups/deliveries, and resolve transportation issues.
Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documentation (BOLs, shipping labels, customs forms, etc.).
Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time delivery and proactively resolve delays.
Work closely with warehouse, production, and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Negotiate freight rates and manage relationships with LTL carriers and third-party logistics providers.
Monitor shipping costs and work to identify opportunities for cost savings.
Maintain shipping logs, records, and reports for audit and compliance purposes.
Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation regulations and company policies.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), ERP software, and/or other logistics tools.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in shipping coordination and LTL dispatch.
Strong knowledge of LTL freight operations, including carrier networks and freight classification.
Familiarity with transportation software (e.g., TMS, ERP systems, EDI tools).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Preferred Skills:
Experience with SAP
Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
