Job Description

As a CarePro or CareLead, you will provide compassionate and professional care to clients, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.

Qualifications & Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Certified Nurse Aide Certification is a plus.

• One-year full-time experience in personal care is recommended or an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, OR one-year full-time experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home care agency setting; OR

  • Evidence of a sympathetic attitude toward elderly care.

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and carry out directions.

  • Evidence of maturity and ability to deal effectively with job demands.

  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Attend eight (8) hours of personal care-oriented services per year.

  • Participate in professional meetings when directed.

  • Ability to work closely supervised to ensure competence in providing client care.

  • Must pass a criminal history check before being offered a position.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance.

• Help clients take prescribed medication.

• Assist clients with ambulation.

• Assist with personal care and hygiene; plan and prepare meals.

• Complete client shopping or accompany them to successfully do so.

• Perform housekeeping duties and report unusual incidents.

• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Provide continuous companionship for the client while on duty

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for clients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating

• Observe the client’s general physical, emotional and mental condition and report all changes to RN

• Maintains strict confidentiality of client, family, and caregiver information

• Maintains good personal hygiene and must be neat in appearance.

Physical Demands

• Sufficient visual and hearing ability to comprehend written and verbal communication.

• Ability to:

  • Perform tasks involving heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.

  • Deal effectively with stress.

  • Work assigned hours per week.

  • Bend and stand for an average of six (6) hours per day.

  • Lift up to 50+ pounds.

  • Write up to 3 hours per day.

  • Work in a stressful environment.

  • Drive up to 50+ miles per day.

Additional Requirements

• Assess and communicate with ill clients, co-workers, and the general public.

• Must have a passion for caregiving and a desire to help others.

• Must be neat in appearance and practice good personal hygiene.

• Must have a reliable means of transport.

• Must have proof of a negative TB test or be willing to get tested.

• Must have CPR and First Aid certifications from a recognized provider.
