About the job

Are you a Project Accountant looking to be an integral part of a growing company? Great news: We've got a spot for you! The Project Accountant manages the complete billing cycle for all construction projects. This includes subcontractor billing, owner billing, compliance documentation, accounts receivable tracking, contract administration, change order processing, and payment processing.

The right candidate will be experienced in construction billing, highly organized, and capable of maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

This role supports project cash flow, ensures accurate and timely invoicing, and facilitates clear communication between project management, accounting, and external vendors/subcontractors. Additionally, this role plays a key part in maintaining accurate contract records and supporting change order processes to ensure proper billing and compliance documentation.

Self-starters who enjoy collecting, processing, and analyzing data and then sharing their insights with non-accounting types will thrive in this role.

What you will enjoy doing every day:

• Coordinate all administrative project details, including project set-up and maintenance
• Accounts Receivable – full cycle, billing, cash receipts, and collections
• 20-day notices, Prelien, and Waiver management
• COI management
• Project kick-off and closeout of accounting processes
• Job costing, reporting & analytics
• Open commitments management
• Overhead rate calculations & allocation
• Prequalification Packages

• Generate internal billing packets for QuickBooks

Skills you’ll need to help you get the job done:

• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially with Excel functions
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required to apply learned subject matter and technical knowledge to reach conclusions from data collection
• Service Titan experience a PLUS

• Procore and Sage Intacct daily for billing and cost entries

What makes you stand out from the rest?

• Increasing experience in construction accounting
• Procore and/or Sage Intacct software experience
• 4 plus years as a Project Accountant
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; extensive experience may be substituted for a degree

Schedule: Hybrid work opportunity, full-time, normal business hours

Compensation: $65,000-$80,000 starting salary, depending on skills and qualifications
