Job Description
We are looking for a Construction Project Accountant for a well regarded High End Residential Construction company with an office in Manhattan. You will be responsible for managing all accounting functions pertaining to assigned projects including entering all project related requisitions, coordination and preparation of client invoices, billing adjustments and overall project compliance and risk management.
Responsibilities :
• Review job set up form with Project Manager, enter key data and set up job in QuickBooks.
• Prepare monthly AIA billing, as well as ‘Time & Materials’ and ‘Stipulated Sum’ client invoices.
• Reconcile ‘work in progress’, including all corresponding supporting paperwork, and maintain all files related to invoices.
• Enter all subcontractor invoices/AIA’s, material invoices, and material order forms into QuickBooks.
• Ensure data accuracy of client accounts, change orders, and sub-contractors.
• Provide reports necessary for compliance and project team meetings.
• Review subcontractor insurance to enter respective data into QuickBooks while maintaining accurate and timely records.
• Create and maintain organized electronic project folders for accounting purposes on shared network drive.
• Produce monthly reports for inclusion in Company ‘work in progress’ updates.
• Maintain monthly project billing schedule.
• Enter project estimate and contract data into QuickBooks.
• Review accounts receivable aging and coordinates with project managers and clients to expedite collection.
• Select job related invoices to be paid during each check run.
• Review accounts payable pending invoice register and coordinates with project managers for timely approval and coding of job related invoices.
• Review accounts payable aging and investigates to resolve issues with old payable items.
• Prepare Client waivers of lien and statements, when necessary.
• Assist in compiling information in connection with the year-end financial statement Review.
• Provide other support as directed. Core Competencies
• Five to Seven years related work experience in construction industry.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, mathematical and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical mind with strict attention to detail.
• Team player able to work independently and collaboratively with the rest of the project team members.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
