The Center for Speech, Language, Occupational and Behavior Therapy (CSLOT) is a complete diagnostic and therapeutic center for disorders of communication, movement, and Autism Spectrum Disorder . Serving both children and adults, CSLOT offers intensive short-term programs as well as ongoing programs for the treatment of all speech, language, voice, movement, and sensory integration disorders at all levels of severity. The Occupational Therapist is a member of the clinical staff and is responsible for providing treatment and performing evaluations for our clients. He/she is detail oriented, dependable, has excellent clinical competence and clinical judgment, excels at working in a multidisciplinary team environment, and supports the vision of the company.

Essential Functions

• Screen and evaluates children and adults with motor and/or sensory disorders
• Write evaluation reports
• Develop treatment programs for children and adults with motor and/or sensory disorders
• Provide teletherapy to individuals with motor and/or sensory disorders
• Measure and documents outcomes of treatment programs
• Write treatment reports
• Interface with other members of the client’s team, especially the parents/family
• Communicate treatment issues with supervisory staff
• Conduct staff and community education
• Acquire, at minimum, the continuing education units (CEUs) necessary for license renewal
• Manage support staff (volunteers, parents, etc.) within the clinic or teletherapy session setting
• Provide ongoing support to CSLOT's marketing efforts
• Contact and schedule sessions directly with clients (Primarily in the Pacific time Zone between 8am PST to 6pm PST)
• Manage and track clients’ progress report due dates
• Will work independently from a HIPAA compliant home office setting (when appropriate)
• Follow CSLOT’s cancellation and makeup policy
• Understand all CSLOT’s payor source services and authorizations
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

E. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

REQUIRED

Minimum Education/Experience: Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy

Certification/License: License to practice occupational therapy in the State of California and certification through the national board

CPR certified within the last 2 years (Not required if working remotely)

Physical Clearance: A negative TB (tuberculosis) test within the last 4 years (Not required if working remotely)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear; sit; use the keyboard; stand or walk. The employee is expected to resolve any connectivity issues, including camera functionality, internet connection, and audio connection. occasionally required to climb stairs; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

G. Client Information

Some clients with whom we work may exhibit adverse behaviors directed toward themselves, other clients, parents or staff. These behaviors may include, but are not limited to hitting, biting, kicking, pulling hair, spitting, and throwing objects. It is possible in the course of your job that you may witness or experience these behaviors. CSLOT&ABA managerial staff will work to support you if you have a client that exhibits adverse behavioral challenges.
