Ameresco is currently looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join our Operations & Maintenance Team in Washington, DC.

First Shift Position

Monday - Friday 7am-330pm ET

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, test, and repair: electrical systems as they relate to building systems and all other equipment.

• Perform skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems in a number of areas including, heating, refrigeration, motors, fire alarm, generator and kitchen equipment.

• Read blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to determine efficient installation and repair.

• Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of system repair.

• Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, regulatory, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, and codes.

• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Two years of industrial electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment.

• Current Journeyman Electrician License.

• Ability to review confidential US security information.

Additional Qualifications:

• Additional specialized courses, certifications are a plus.

• High Voltage experience is preferred.

• Basic computer skills including e-mail and data entry using Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs & transport equipment & tools in excess of 300 lbs.

• Ability to routinely climb ladders, walk up and down sloped ramps and work on elevated platforms.

• Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing.

• May be required to pass DOT substance testing and/or security clearance investigation.

• Will be required for ‘on call’ support or varied schedule needs.
