I&C Engineer Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced I&C Engineer to join our project team for an 8-week assignment to support the design and development of a plastics to coker project at our recycling facility. The successful candidate will have a strong background in systems automation and instrumentation, with a proven track record of delivering cost-effective and technically sound designs.
I&C Engineer Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design resources, process operators, and engineers to achieve project objectives and ensure efficient design, cost-effectiveness, and operability.
- Prepare or review/approve specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
- Perform periodic design reviews to ensure designs meet specifications, codes, regulations, and contract requirements.
- Document and maintain all technical communication impacting project decisions.
- Integrate with control systems suppliers, consult with peers, and support SIS Lifecycle phases.
- Develop control logic Functional Specifications for automation and operator control logic integration into DCS systems.
- Review alarm rationalization aspects for capital automation projects.
- Develop procedures for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Pre-Startup Acceptance Tests (PSAT), and startup activities.
- Ensure proper documentation and data integrity of function testing, FAT, PSAT, and startup activities.
I&C Engineer Position Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in I&C engineering, with a combination of systems automation and instrumentation expertise.
- Strong understanding of design principles, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering).
- Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Simulink).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret technical data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites (if required).
