Customer Service Representative
Location: Syosset, NY

Salary: $18-20

Overview:
A growing organization is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join its team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for clients, providers, and internal departments, ensuring timely, professional, and courteous service. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming calls and provide exceptional customer service to clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and claimants.

• Schedule Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) appointments on behalf of insurance adjusters.

• Contact medical providers to coordinate and confirm IME appointment availability.

• Send appointment notifications to claimants and their legal representatives.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation in internal systems.

• Understand and communicate the role of IMEs as a cost-containment tool used by insurance companies to assess the validity and extent of injury claims.

• Reprice Auto and Workers' Compensation medical bills using Usual & Customary, PPO, or Fee Schedule rates based on CPT codes billed.

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of appointments and billing.

• Ensure all work is compliant with HIPAA regulations and internal company policies.

• Escalate complex or urgent issues to the appropriate team or supervisor as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.

• 1–2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare, insurance, or administrative setting.

• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, and fee schedule pricing is a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using internal databases.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume environment.
