Nonprofit Agency:  Life Exchange Center

Location: 13407 Kinsman Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44120

 Contract Type:  This Contract is Temporary

Contract Duration: Must be completed by June 30 2025

About Us:  Life Exchange Center is dedicated to serving citizens of our who have mental health diagnosis or substance misuse disorder. As we strive to enhance our community impact, we are inviting qualified CPA firms or independent contractors to participate in a competitive bid offering for the role of CPA Accountant/Auditor. The selected contractor will provide crucial financial oversight and auditing services to help us achieve our nonprofit goals.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract CPA Accountant/Auditor to manage our financial accounting and auditing requirements. The contractor will be expected to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, conduct audits, and provide financial guidance tailored to the distinct requirements of our nonprofit agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit industry standards.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and related reports, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Conduct thorough internal audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Collaborate in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets. 
  • Generate and present detailed audit reports, including findings and recommendations, to management and the board.
  • Facilitate communication with external auditors, assisting with the annual audit process and ensuring all necessary documentation is provided promptly.
  • Provide insights on best practices in nonprofit accounting and assist in the implementation of effective financial practices.
  • Review with the  Executive Director and Fiscal Officer accounting procedures and nonprofit financial management, as necessary and required.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (mandatory).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
  • Minimum 3 years in accounting/auditing, with a strong preference for experience in the nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software e.g., QuickBooks  and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Interested candidates or firms must submit the following items for consideration:

  • A detailed proposal outlining qualifications, experience, and approach to fulfilling the contract.
  • A breakdown of fees and compensation structure.
  • Examples of prior work with nonprofit organizations, including references.
  • Any additional services offered beyond the standard accounting and auditing scope.
