Position Overview:

The Director of Operations – Colorado will lead all Flexpak operations at our Aurora facility, driving excellence in production, distribution, and supply chain functions. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to optimize operational efficiency, ensure high-quality standards, and support Flexpak’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement local strategies that reduce costs, enhance service, and support growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen quality, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure local operations are aligned with Flexpak’s broader vision, values, and long-term strategic goals.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor Managers and Supervisors, promoting accountability and high performance.
  • Set clear goals and expectations, providing regular coaching and feedback.
  • Promote a positive, customer-first culture rooted in teamwork and continuous improvement.

Manufacturing and Production Oversight

  • Manage local production processes including kitting, fulfillment, corrugated, and foam operations.
  • Ensure consistent production output aligned with customer demand and quality standards.
  • Balance in-house manufacturing and distribution for optimal resource utilization.

Process Optimization

  • Evaluate and streamline operational workflows to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Leverage data, KPIs, and system tools to drive measurable improvement across functions.
  • Enhance integration of kitting, assembly, and packaging for greater process synergy.

Safety and Compliance

  • Uphold OSHA standards and Flexpak safety protocols to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Oversee regular equipment checks, maintenance, and facility readiness.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture that emphasizes prevention and accountability.

Financial Oversight

  • Monitor and control operational costs to align with budget objectives.
  • Contribute to site-level financial forecasting and resource planning.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through smarter sourcing and lean practices.

Quality and Inventory Management

  • Implement quality control systems to ensure consistent product excellence.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels with a strong cycle count and audit practices.
  • Ensure optimal material usage and warehouse space utilization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with all departments to align operations with customer expectations.
  • Facilitate communication between departments to ensure cohesive planning and execution.
  • Support company-wide initiatives and contribute operational insight to cross-functional projects.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in an operations or production management role, preferably within distribution or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated success in multi-site management.
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization, quality control, and safety compliance.
  • Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and resource management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
