Senior ROI Specialist-Advance Care & Legal Documentation

Full Time - 80 hrs/pay

M-F 8:00am to 4:30pm

Scheurer Hospital, a rural critical access hospital, is seeking a full-time ROI Specialist to assist in the Health Information Management Services Department.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately manage and maintain patient health records in accordance with federal, state, and organizational policies
  • Intake, documentation of legal and end-of-life planning documents including
    1. Advance Care Planning (ACP) forms
    2. Durable Power of Attorney (DPOA) for healthcare, financial, guardianship/conservatorship forms
    3. Death Certificates
  • Processing legal requests for Release of Information (ROI)
  • Assisting with patient-initiated medical record amendment requests
  • Attention to detail, strong understanding of confidentiality standards, and familiarity with HIPAA regulations

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Health Information Technology, Medical Office Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Health Information Management
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Certification or equivalent
  • Proficient with electronic health record management & ROI processes
  • Legal Medico & Subpoena requirements
  • Possess knowledge of local State and Federal laws regarding medical Records
