Position Summary:

As a Service Writer, you will be the bridge between our customers and the technicians. Your role is to provide excellent customer service, write accurate repair orders, and help drive the growth of the business by promoting services, retaining customers, and optimizing workflow. Experience with Tekmetric is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and build strong, trust-based relationships

• Create detailed repair orders using Tekmetric

• Accurately communicate customer concerns to technicians and translate technician findings to customers

• Present service recommendations clearly and confidently, without pressure

• Schedule appointments and manage shop workflow efficiently

• Maintain customer records and follow up on deferred work

• Help implement service promotions and grow customer base

• Monitor and track performance metrics (average RO, closing ratios, etc.)

• Work closely with the team to ensure high-quality, on-time repairs

• Contribute ideas for marketing, upsells, and operational improvements

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a Service Writer or Service Advisor (automotive repair setting)

• Proficient in Tekmetric shop management software

• Strong communication and sales skills

• Customer-first mindset with a professional and friendly attitude

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of automotive systems and repair terminology

• Basic computer proficiency (Google Workspace, Excel, etc.)

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with customer retention strategies

• Familiarity with local marketing ideas or community engagement

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
