Job Details

Responsibilities

1. Perform environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms using established procedures. Tests include static load, thermal vacuum, benchtop operation, separation, shock, and vibration
2. Operate spaceflight hardware and test fixtures using data acquisition system and established procedures
3. Attach and remove components on spaceflight hardware
4. Inspect mechanical and electrical components after test completion
5. Perform maintenance on test fixtures
6. Idea generation of potential process improvements
7. Assist with non-conformance investigations

Ideal Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent with 4 or more years of relevant experience
2. Familiarity with common aerospace assembly and inspection tools. e.g. torque wrenches, load cells, feeler gauges, calipers, multimeters
3. Experience assisting with writing technical work instructions related to Environmental Testing
4. Understanding and experience with quality management systems such as AS9100
5. Excellent manual dexterity, ability to handle small parts such as fasteners as small as #0-80
6. Experience using electronics equipment (e.g. DMMs, power supplies, DAQs, etc.)

Desired Skills

1. Strong technical capability and mechanical inclination, with ability to follow and execute procedures
2. Experience working in an Aerospace cleanroom environment - preferred
3. Understanding of advanced electronic circuitry
4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as autonomously
5. Ability to provide intuitive and timely solutions for immediate prototype production
6. Effective communication abilities, attention to detail and self-motivated
7. Possess strong problem solving and communication abilities
8. High standard of quality workmanship
9. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
10. Capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws
11. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills
