Company Description

Juneau Bone and Joint Center is an orthopedic outpatient clinic in Juneau Alaska. Our office consists of 3 Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeons and 1 Board Certified Sports Medicine and PM&R physician. We house a full rehabilitation department consisting of 6 physical therapists and 2 massage therapist and 1 occupational therapist. We offer in office advanced imaging including MRI and X-ray allowing the best experience and continuity of care for our patients.

Role Description

The Physicians Assistant will assist in diagnosis, management, and treatment of various musculoskeletal conditions and work as a surgical first assist. Our candidate should have a strong background in orthopedics and be willing to work colaboratively with other healthcare professionals in our office as well as the community. Our practice believes in ensuring our patients are well educated and have a good understanding of their conditions to help guide them on the right path to recovery.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures
  • Conduct patient evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Develop and implement patient treatment plans
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary
  • Educate patients on post-operative care and rehabilitation
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Previous experience in orthopedic practice
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
