At Kelley Brothers LC, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service — and we’re growing. We’re seeking a detail-oriented, disciplined Commercial HVAC Estimator to join our team and help us win the right work while ensuring profitability.

This role is focused solely on estimating and bidding. It does not include purchasing, project management, or field execution responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

As a Commercial Estimator, your primary focus will be to develop accurate, competitive, and well-documented bids that reflect the full scope of work and set our projects up for success.

Core Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Review Plans and Specs

  • Understand complete scope before bidding

  • Identify inclusions, exclusions, and potential gaps

• Perform Accurate Takeoffs

  • Quantify materials, labor, and equipment for HVAC systems

  • Use vendor quotes and historical data to support estimates

• Estimate Labor and Equipment Costs

  • Apply real-world crew productivity rates

  • Factor in labor burden, markups, and target margins

• Request and Evaluate Vendor/Subcontractor Quotes

  • Communicate with suppliers for current pricing

  • Ensure quotes match project scope (apples-to-apples comparison)

• Build and Submit Proposals

  • Prepare professional proposals with clear breakdowns

  • Match each GC’s requested scope format

• Track Bids and Outcomes

  • Maintain bid logs and job status records

  • Help analyze win/loss patterns and refine bidding strategy

• Support Pre-Construction (as needed)

  • Answer scope or pricing questions post-bid

  • Provide clear handoff documentation if awarded

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC estimating, preferably in commercial

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications

• Excellent math, communication, and organizational skills

• Proficiency with estimating tools/software and Microsoft Office

• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy

• A proactive, self-motivated professional who thrives independently
