Job Description
The Customer Service Advocate I is mainly responsible for handling incoming hotline inquiries related to benefits and eligibility verification, claim status (including identifying claims that may need reconsideration), authorization updates, and member complaints. The role also involves accurately documenting all interactions, performing timely follow-ups when necessary, and properly routing information electronically—all while ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Respond to inbound calls, emails, or chat inquiries from members and applicants regarding healthcare plan enrollment, eligibility, claim status and benefit inquiries
  • Guide callers through the application and enrollment process for various healthcare insurance plans
  • Maintain knowledge of current healthcare programs, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve member concerns and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Accurately document all calls and interactions in the system while maintaining strict confidentiality and ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Highschool Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of customer service experience, in healthcare, insurance, or a call center environment
  • Knowledge of healthcare enrollment processes (Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace, or commercial insurance) preferred
  • Proficient in using computers and navigating multiple systems (CRM, enrollment platforms, etc.)

Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role.
