Accounts Payable Specialist

A company in Rockville is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of full cycle AP experience within the construction industry. Onsite 5 days a week with a salary ranging from $60k-70k, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and process vendor invoices, match to purchase orders, and ensure accurate coding to cost centers and GL accounts. Process payments via check, ACH, or electronic transfer.
• Review and process employee expense reports in line with company policies, ensuring timely payment and proper documentation.
• Reconcile corporate credit card transactions, review statements, and ensure accurate coding and compliance.
• Manage and track lien waivers from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely submission and proper documentation for compliance.
• Maintain positive relationships with vendors, respond to inquiries, and support project managers in tracking job cost expenses and payments.
• Assist in monthly and year-end closing, reconcile AP accounts, and prepare AP-related reports. Support audits and maintain organized records.

Qualifications:

• At least 2-4 years in accounts payable, employee expenses, credit card management, and lien waivers, preferably in construction.
• Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).
• Proficiency in accounting software, advanced Excel skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication.
