We are seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to join a highly respected fire protection and life safety company providing installation and service across Texas. Position Summary:
The Fire Alarm Technician will install, maintain, and service fire alarm and low-voltage systems at commercial sites in the DFW area. The ideal candidate is dependable and experienced with hands-on technical experience, knowledge of applicable codes, a commitment to safety and quality and availability for the on call rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and test fire alarm systems and associated low-voltage systems (e.g., smoke detectors, pull stations, horns/strobes)
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning systems
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and service calls
- Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and manufacturer standards
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Communicate with customers and team members in a professional manner
- Travel locally to job sites (company vehicle and phone provided)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; trade or technical training preferred
- 1–3+ years of experience in fire alarm or low-voltage installation/service
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Texas Fire Alarm Technician License (FAL) preferred, but will consider applicants without licenses who have experience
- NICET certification is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and wiring skills
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams
- Comfortable working on ladders/lifts and in various site conditions
- Willingness to work overtime, travel and on-call
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights
- Comfortable working outdoors or in active construction environments
