Gulf Gate Family Medicine is hiring a Full Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our primary care team. Experience in the primary care setting is required. We are looking for a new team member who has a positive attitude, the ability to manage their time effectively, multi-task, and possess critical think skills. The ideal candidate will supports our top initiative of ensuring an excellent patient experience and practicing evidence based medicine. Hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday. Physician Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, and chronic illnesses.
  • Assess client health by interviewing patients, performing comprehensive physical examinations, obtain medical histories including personal and family, reviewing previous records.
  • Educating and counseling patients and their families.
  • Prescribing medications and suggesting lifestyle changes.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
  • Communicate with collaborating physicians/specialists regarding patient care.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to maintain optimal client care and client health, applying evidence based medicine with analysis of results and treatment plans; implement physician directive
  • Serve as a liaison between the physician, patients, and other healthcare professionals
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient electronic medical records, including medical histories, updating findings and treatment, medical reports, diagnosis, medication, progress, etc.
  • Providing required documentation for insurance companies, pharmacies, etc.
  • Performing Virtual Telemedicine Visits with Patients
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements in the delivery of client care
  • Ability to treat between 16-18 patients a day

Physician Assistant Requirements:

  • Physician Assistant Certified
  • A Clear and Active state license to practice Medicine in the State of Florida.
  • Strong Computer skills. Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR)
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Detail oriented with good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, team work, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine
