Job Description:
- Under the direction of the HR Director, responsible for leading all activities of the HR function and leading HR related projects.
- Capable of taking on full HR responsibilities including leading the Human Resources function with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate high level knowledge of HR practices, guidelines and regulations to monitor and provide advice regarding compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws/regulations and BioMed's policies, processes and procedures.
- Initial focus on providing guidance to and work closely with the various Biomed departments to lead the full-cycle staffing development and execution process to include updating position descriptions, applicant sourcing, recruiting, pre-employment screening, on-site interviewing and employee on-boarding; build and maintain effective relationships with schools and other community sources.
- Provide overall administrative support to HR Department, including maintaining, processing and filing documentation and records and entering in the HRIS system.
- Assist with audits and monitoring.
- Coordinate development of an on-boarding process that enhances employee engagement and facilitates relationship building.
- Coordinate bi-annual 401k enrollment process.
- Apply necessary skills to address employee relations issues on a timely basis; insure consistency across the company.
- Monitor and track various eligibility data and staff requirements including background checks, certifications or training, etc.
- Proven experience administering ADA, FMLA, Workmen's Compensation and Unemployment Compensation processes.
- Responsible for benefit administration process and coordination/direct interface with third-party benefits administrator.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline preferred; proven additional related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years HR related experience required; preferred experience includes having successfully run a small-medium size company in an HR capacity.
- Experience and willingness to do all aspects of an HR Generalist role with initial primary focus on staffing.
- Must have proven experience navigating the various job boards.
- Must be creative in sourcing candidates and difficult to fill positions.
- Experience preferred in recruiting at the college level.
- Must have solid understanding of all HR disciplines.
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.
- Previous Payroll Administration required; ability and experience to backup current payroll specialist if necessary.
- Time management and organization skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, resource planning to meet deadlines and goals, and ability to work independently to respond to daily functional needs.
- Excellent presentation skills required to facilitate training or deliver informational sessions to groups or individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively, professionally with all employee levels.
- Previous experience updating company website a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill required to explain complex and/or confidential information to all levels of employees.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality a strong requirement.
- Punctuality/Reliability critical.
- High level attention to detail.
- Confidence with “can do” attitude.
- Customer focused; courteous/pleasant manner
- Strong computer/software skills required; ability to develop analytical spreadsheets required.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR)/Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.
- Ability to work early day or evening hours as business needs dictate.
- Must be able to travel to multiple company sites as needed and have reliable transportation.
- Business hours typically Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Occasional Saturday if required; will be required to start earlier at other sites for new hire orientation.
